Elul :Coming Home

Path Back to Ourselves

Elul isn't a courtroom — it's a reunion. 💜 When we hear the word Elul, many of us brace for judgment. But Elul is an acronym for Ani L'Dodi V'Dodi Li — "I am my Beloved's, and my Beloved is mine" — from Shir HaShirim, the most intimate love poem in our tradition. This is the month the Gates of Heaven stand wide open. In this 5-minute talk, we explore: 🔹 What teshuva really means — not "fixing yourself," but coming back (lashuv) to the true, unblemished soul that was always there 🔹 How Jewish mindfulness and returning to Daat mirrors the process of teshuva 🔹 Why our desire for closeness to Hashem — even before we change a single habit — already begins to change us 🔹 The Three Gates of Elul: Teshuva, Tefillah, and Tzedakah 🔹 A simple, gentle daily practice to carry with you this month This Elul, I want to invite you into something gentle, not overwhelming. Just a few quiet minutes a day, coming back to yourself — and to Hashem. Ani l'Dodi v'Dodi li. I am my Beloved's, and my Beloved is mine.
